Job 20:12-23

12 Though evil is sweet in his mouth,
though he hides it aunder his tongue,
13though he is loath to let it go
and holds it in his mouth,
14yet his food is turned in his stomach;
it is the venom of bcobras within him.
15He swallows down riches and vomits them up again;
God casts them out of his belly.
16He will suck the poison of cobras;
cthe tongue of a viper will kill him.
17He will not look upon dthe rivers,
the streams flowing with ehoney and fcurds.
18He will ggive back the fruit of his toil
and will not hswallow it down;
from the profit of his trading
he will get no enjoyment.
19For he has crushed and abandoned the poor;
he has seized a house that he did not build.
20 Because he iknew no jcontentment in his belly,
khe will not let anything in which he delights escape him.
21There was nothing left after he had eaten;
therefore his prosperity will not endure.
22In the fullness of his sufficiency he will be in distress;
the hand of everyone in misery will come against him.
23To fill his belly to the full,
God
Hebrew he
will send his burning anger against him
and rain it upon him minto his body.

Psalms 78:30-31

30But before they had satisfied their craving,
nwhile the food was still in their mouths,
31the anger of God rose against them,
and he killed othe strongest of them
and laid low pthe young men of Israel.

Ecclesiastes 5:10

10He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves wealth with his income; this also is vanity.

Isaiah 55:2

2 qWhy do you spend your money for that which is not bread,
and your labor for that which does not satisfy?
Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good,
and delight yourselves in rich food.

Luke 12:19-20

19And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have ample goods laid up rfor many years; relax, seat, drink, be merry.”’ 20But God said to him, tFool! uThis night vyour soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, wwhose will they be?’
